Limited access to City Hall, Police Department and Public Works graphicThe City of Davenport will limit access to City Hall, Davenport Police Department, Davenport Public Works and RiverCenter and Adler Theatre starting at the end of business Thursday, March 19 to better protect employees and the public.

“It is important for the City to be accessible to our residents but also take precautions to protect everyone in our community,” Mayor Mike Matson said. “We continue to review the recommendations of our local, state and federal health officials in order to provide that balance.”

The City encourages the public to consider alternative ways of contacting City staff including utilizing email and phone. Residents who need to conduct business with the City are encouraged to do so online. A list of online resources can be found at www.davenportiowa.com/COVID. Citizens that desire to come to City Hall, Public Works or the Police Department, will need to utilize phones that have been placed in the front vestibule to contact staff prior to gaining entrance.

Drop boxes for payments are located by the front doors at both City Hall and Public Works. The Office of Assisted Housing was closed to walk-ins earlier this week.

The City is also suspending all penalties associated with late payments until June 1, 2020. That includes not applying late fees to delinquent utility bills, sending delinquent utility bill assessments to Scott County, turning delinquent utility bills over to its collection agency and disconnecting water services for delinquent sewer bills.
