HOW IT WORKS
In first year of program, the electronic application form will open on November 18, 2024 and close February 28, 2025 or once the slots have been filled.
50 slots are available and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Spots will be reserved in the order that application is completed and payment submitted.
Banners will hang from Memorial Day to Veterans Day (one year). After the program ends, the sponsor will receive the banner to keep.
QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify for the Veterans Tribute Banner Program, the following criteria must be met:
- The honoree is an active-duty member of the United States Armed Forces; OR
- The honoree is a retired or honorably discharged member of the United States Armed Forces who has, or did, reside in Davenport, or resided in Davenport and is now deceased; OR
- The applicant is a current resident or owner of a business based in Davenport.
LOCATION
The banners will be displayed on light posts on the path along the Davenport riverfront stretching from the area near Veterans Memorial Park to the Centennial Bridge.
COST
Sponsorship of each banner costs $200 which includes the design, printing, and installation. A portion of the costs will be donated to the Friends of Veterans Memorial Park.
BANNER INFORMATION
Each banner measures 18”x 36”, including:
- Honoree's name and rank
- Military photo
- Branch of service
- Years of service
PHOTO REQUIREMENTS
All photos must be of the service member in their official uniform.
