latest Updates
DAVENPORT dog PARKS closed as of 11/29/23
With concern for our four legged friends, both Davenport area dog parks will be closed as of November 29 in response to the respiratory dog virus that has been reported in Illinois and other states. A reopening date has not yet been determined. Updates will be shared here, on the Dog Park page, and via Facebook.
Vander Veer Botanical Park roadway now one-way
The main roadway through the park is now one-way (see map).
Park users can still get to the Conservatory from either entrance/exit.
The purpose of this change is to ease traffic congestion along the
roadway during peak times when we have a lot of cars wanting to park
along the sides of the roadway, especially at larger community events.
Doing this will allow for cars to park on both sides of the roadway
while still allowing free flow of traffic in the one direction.
festive holiday lights are back in davenport parks
Davenport Parks and Recreation is proud to announce the return on Saturday, November 25 of the Fejervary Holiday Lights and the Poinsettia and Holiday Lights at Vander Veer Conservatory. At Vander Veer Botanical Park white lights illuminate the rose garden, walkways and Grand Allée throughout the park. While you are there, make sure to visit the Vander Veer Conservatory's annual Poinsettia Show, a holiday spectacular, open to the public through Sunday, January 13.
The Fejervary Holiday Lights, a show of multi-colored lights coordinated to music, will run every night through Sunday, January 8 from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Fejervary Learning Center. The light shows last approximately 15 minutes with a show starting every 30 minutes.
