January 25, 2022 – Applications are now being accepted for DavenportU, the City of Davenport’s nine-week citizens academy program. After cancelling in-person sessions last year due to COVID-19, a virtual program was released on the City’s website and included a series of eight videos highlighting roles and responsibilities of various City departments. The 2022 program is expected to be held in-person.
“We are excited to host in-person sessions once again and look forward to participants being able to come together, ask questions, and get a behind-the-scenes look at City operations,” said Mayor Mike Matson.
The Monday sessions will begin on March 28, 2022 with an introduction to city government and conclude with graduation at the May 25, 2022 City Council Meeting. In between, participants will learn the basics of city government as well as community development processes, community policing, and budget planning. Applications for the DavenportU 2022 Spring Cohort will be accepted through February 25, 2022.
