July 20, 2021 – City Council will consider a Resolution of support for the Quad Cities Chamber application to the U.S. Small Business Administration for the Community Navigator Pilot Program. The focus of this program is to provide targeted outreach to specific sectors of the entrepreneurial community such as underserved, minority-owned, and industries significantly impacted by COVID-19. Staff has requested Council suspend the rules and vote on the item tomorrow evening in order to expedite the application.

Council will consider the plans, specifications, and estimate of cost for additional work at Veterans Memorial Park, furthering the riverfront refresh as well as continuing improvements to the City’s park system. Work in this sub-phase of Phase II will construct a scenic overlook with formal and informal seating, 225 lineal feet of improved riverwalk, connecting walking paths to the Riverfront Trail and existing Phase I plaza, and initial site grading to prepare for future Phase II sub-phases.

City Council will formalize their commitment of $1M in seed funding for the Youth Assessment Program through a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Davenport, City of Bettendorf, Scott County, and the United Way of the Quad Cities. The Youth Assessment Center will facilitate easy access to resources and services to youth and families.
