Kimberly and Division Widening Project Update. All travel lanes have been re-opened to traffic. Site restoration work, such as: traffic signal replacement, sidewalks, grading and sod, will require intermittent day time lane reductions during the month of November. Motorists are advised to pay attention to signs and changing traffic control while site restoration activities are completed.
On the heels of the re-opening, motorists should be advised a lane reduction in the right lane of westbound Kimberly Rd near Pine St will be placed on Monday, November 6th. Find details at this link.

Kimberly and Division Widening Project Update. The contractor is expected to complete all roadway related work on or by Friday, November 3rd. Once complete, all lanes of travel will be re-opened to traffic.

Kimberly and Division St Widening Project Update. The city’s contractor currently estimates Stage 3 of the project will be complete mid-to-late October, weather dependent. Once complete, Stage 4 (final stage) will begin.
In Stage 4 of the project, Division St will be fully re-opened, and lane reductions placed on Kimberly Rd both east and west of the Division St intersection. Information about this stage will be released as we near completion of Stage 3.

Following a recent construction inspection, city staff identified a number of items that needed to be addressed before allowing the contractor to move forward with Stage 3 of the project.
Stage 3 and the traffic control flip to the west southbound lanes of Division between 38th and 40th Streets will not occur until Tuesday, September 5th to ensure city construction standards are met.
The estimated completion date of Stage 3 remains September 28th.
Be alert as traffic control changes beginning Tuesday.

Stage 2 of the Kimberly and Division project will continue through August 30th. Stage 3 will begin Thursday, August 31st. Head-to-head traffic will move to the two west southbound lanes of Division between 38th and 40th Streets with the start of Stage 3.
The approximate completion date of Stage 3 is September 28th.
Work on 40th St between Division and Rodeo is also expected to be complete, and the road re-opened, on Thursday, August 31st.
Be alert as traffic control changes later this week.

Early estimates for completion of Stage 2 of the Kimberly and Division project following delays due to weather, subsurface conditions and gas main installation have been revised to accommodate changing conditions.
Stage 2 and head-to-head travel will continue in the northbound lanes of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets, and the eastbound lane reduction on Kimberly Rd between Wilkes and Division St will remain in place through Monday, August 28th.
Once Stage 2 is complete, Phase 3 of the project will begin. During Stage 3, work will flip to the east side, and head-to-head travel will move to the southbound lanes.
While adjustments have been made to the completion date of Stage 2, full project completion will remain October 9th.

Stage 2 of the Kimberly Rd and Division St project has seen additional delays since our June update. These additional delays are primarily due to unsuitable soil conditions and installation of a gas main. Issues with soil condition have been resolved and staff anticipates completion of the gas main will be complete by Wednesday, July 19th, allowing remaining construction activities under this phase to be completed.
Head-to-head travel will continue in the northbound lanes of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets, and the eastbound lane reduction on Kimberly Rd between Wilkes and Division St will remain in place through August 14th.
Once Stage 2 is complete, Phase 3 of the project will begin. During Stage 3, work will flip to the east side, and head-to-head travel will move to the southbound lanes.

Stage 2 of the Kimberly Rd and Division St project has been delayed due to weather and underground utility work. Head-to-head travel in the northbound lanes of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets, and the eastbound lane reduction on Kimberly Rd between Wilkes and Division St will remain in place through July 28th. Once complete, Stage 3 of the project will begin. During Stage 3, work will flip to the east side, and head-to-head travel will move to the southbound lanes.

Stage 2 construction activities will remain in place through approximately June 7th. Head-to-head travel in the northbound lanes of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets, and the westbound lane reduction on Kimberly Rd between Wilkes and Division St will remain in place through completion of this stage.
04/12/17
Traffic will be routed head-to-head in the northbound lanes of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets for a day yet this week. Travel lanes may be re-opened over the weekend, however, long-term closure of the southbound lanes (late May/early June) should be set during the week of Monday, April 17th.
Also beginning Monday, April 17th, travel will be reduced to one westbound lane of travel on Kimberly Rd between Wilkes and Division St.
Staff anticipates these lane reductions will be in place through June 7th, weather dependent.
Of note, motorist will also see the installation of temporary traffic lights in the coming week. Please pay attention when traveling through this intersection in the coming weeks. Consider an alternate route if you are able.

Beginning Wednesday, April 12th both southbound lanes of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets will be closed. Upon closure, travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction (head-to-head) in the northbound lanes along this stretch. An additional lane reduction on eastbound Kimberly, west of the intersection will occur on or about April 17th. Staff anticipates work on this phase of the project will be complete on or by May 29th.
Please pay attention to signs as construction progresses and new traffic plans are placed. Drive with caution through the intersection. Expect delays and consider taking an alternate route.

A southbound lane of Division St between 38th and 40th Streets remains closed. As work progresses, on or before April 10th, closure of one eastbound lane on Kimberly will occur, and later closure of one northbound lane of Division St. Pay attention to signs as construction progresses and new traffic plans are placed. Stage 2 of the W Kimberly Rd and N Division St intersection improvements is being phased in. Phasing in will keep the two northbound lanes of Division St open for a bit longer and delay closure of an eastbound lane on W Kimberly Rd.
Changes the traveling public will see on Monday, March 27th, include closure of the southbound lane of Division St south of the intersection. As work progresses, on or before April 10th, closure of one eastbound lane on Kimberly will occur, and later closure of one northbound lane of Division St.
Pay attention to signs as construction progresses and new traffic plans are placed. Drive with caution through the intersection.
The traveling public should expect delays; consider taking an alternate route.

Kimberly and Division St Widening Project Update 03/09/17.
Since our initial release, the contractor has extended the length of time to complete Stage 1 of this project to 03/27. Stage 2, which reduces travel down to one lane in each direction on Division St between 38th and 40th Streets, will not begin until 03/27. See the updated schedule and map, as well as information below, for more details on this project.

Work to widen Division St at Kimberly Rd is set to begin the week of March 13th. The widening project will add both right and left turn lanes for more efficient movement of traffic in this highly traveled area. Widening will be completed in four stages and will include water main, stormwater, sidewalk and ADA ramp improvements. Staff anticipates all work will be complete by the end of July, depending on weather.
Stage 1 is anticipated to begin March 13th and be complete by March 27h. This work will install a water main along the north lane of W 40th St and crossing Rodeo Rd. Rodeo Rd will be closed to all traffic so the new water main can cross the road.
Stage 2 will begin upon completion of Stage 1 and is anticipated to be complete by the end of May. This stage will: install a new water main along the west edge of Division St from W 40th St to W 38th St, widen the south bound lanes of Division St to accommodate dedicated turn lanes, establish new residential and commercial street access, and install new sidewalks and ADA ramps. The new dedicated turn lanes to be established include a right hand turn lane onto westbound Kimberly Rd and a dedicated left hand turn lane onto eastbound Kimberly from southbound Division.
Stage 3 will begin upon completion of Stage 2 and is anticipated to be complete by the middle of July. Stage 3 will widen northbound Division St to accommodate a dedicated right hand turn lane onto eastbound Kimberly Rd, and install new commercial street access points, new center medians on Division St, and new sidewalks and ADA ramps.
Stage 4 will follow Stage 3 and should be complete by the end of July. This stage includes modifying the center medians on Kimberly Rd and installing new traffic control signals.
