Davenport’s Historic Preservation Ordinance was created to enable the community to identify, protect and enjoy Davenport's distinctive historical and architectural resources which represent a visual legacy of the city’s cultural, social, economic, political and architectural heritage. It encourages the conservation, through sympathetic rehabilitation and/or reuse, of historically or architecturally significant properties. The Historic Preservation Commission has been established to protect and enhance Locally Designated historic resources.
