Mayor Frank Klipsch and the City Council welcomed a delegation from Langfang, China to Davenport this week.
On Thursday, Mayor Klipsch, Mayor Pro Tem/Alderman Mike Matson, and Patricia Matson welcomed a delegation from Langfang China to Davenport. The Matsons were part of a delegation to China in March where the first agreement toward a Sister Cities partnership was signed by the alderman.
The Langfang delegation was welcomed to City Hall on Friday morning by Mayor Klipsch and Alderman Rich Clewell, 6th Ward,
During the delegation's visit to City Hall, Mayor Klipsch presented and received gifts and signed an agreement further formalizing the two cities' Sister Cities friendship.
Langfang is a city of about 5 million located 30 miles southeast of Beijing, the Chinese capital.
The mayor received two paintings of flowers, while he presented members of the Langfang delegation with glass sculptures and challenge coins.
