Gov. Reynolds signs new proclamation

Today, May 13, 2020, Governor Reynolds signed a new proclamation continuing the Public Health Disaster Emergency. The proclamation permits the following establishments to reopen in Davenport and Scott County in a limited capacity with appropriate public health measures in place effective 5:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2020:

o Salons
o Barbershops
o Massage parlors
o Tattoo parlors
o Restaurants (but not bars)
o Fitness centers
o Libraries
o Race tracks 

Restrictions are still in place for the following City amenities: 

o The Adler Theatre will remain closed.
o The Skatepark will remain closed. 
o Playgrounds will remain closed. 

The proclamation continues the other ongoing closures and public health measures, including the ban on social, community, recreational, leisure, and sporting gatherings and events of more than 10 people, until 11:59 p.m. on May 27, 2020.
 
Davenport City Council approved a temporary program at its Wednesday, May 13 meeting permitting sidewalk dining from 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. in the downtown area, Village of East Davenport, and Hilltop Campus Village. The program will allow patrons who do not feel comfortable dining inside an alternative option to support local businesses. Businesses must apply and submit required documentation before being permitted to do so. (Please check back after May 14 for more information). 
 
City Hall, Public Works, and the Police Department will continue to have limited access to the public. 

As of May 11, the Davenport Public Library has tentatively scheduled the reopening of the Fairmount drive-up window for Monday, May 18th, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. The reopening depends on the supply and availability of personal protective equipment and supplies to ensure the safety of staff and the public. Please check www.davenportlibrary.com for any changes or announcements.
