Paratransit Service

Image of RiverBend Transit Paratransit Bus Page Decoration OnlyCitiBus offers a wheelchair-accessible fleet with a rear-facing securement system that enables passengers to quickly and independently secure their wheelchairs with minimal driver assistance. 

Complimentary paratransit services are available to individuals with disabilities that prevent them from boarding, riding, or getting to an accessible fixed-route bus. 

Paratransit Service Details

Paratransit services are administered by CitiBus. The service is operated under a contract with River Bend Transit. 

  • The service is available to Davenport residents who are unable to use fixed routes. 
  • The service is only available within 3/4 miles of a fixed route. If you are unsure if your trip is eligible, please call 563.8881.2151 for assistance. 

How to Apply for Paratransit

  1. Call 563.888.2151 to request a Paratransit Application be mailed to you, or download the application by clicking this link.
  2. Complete and submit the completed application according to the instructions.
  3. A determination of eligibility will be mailed to you. 

Fares for Paratransit Service

  • $2.00 for individuals aged 9 and up. Free for children under 8 with paid adult fare. 
  • One personal care attendant is free with paid paratransit fare.

Scheduling a Trip on Paratransit

Individuals must be approved to use Paratransit by CitiBus before scheduling a trip. 

All Paratransit trips are by appointment only. Eligible individuals must call River Bend Transit at 563-386-1350 or 800-292-8959 to make a reservation or obtain trip information (TDD-equipped). Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance and must be made at least one day before the trip. Paratransit service is provided during the hours CitiBus normally operates.  

If a rider can provide to CitiBus proof they are eligible for Paratransit with a different transit agency they may use Paratransit for up to 21 days in a 365-day period.  This evidence must be presented before scheduling a trip.  After 21 days of use, the individual will be required to obtain approval by CitiBus to continue using Paratransit in Davenport.

Persons with Hearing or Speech Disability

Persons with hearing or speech disabilities are encouraged to use the 711 system to communicate with us via a TTY-based Telecommunication Relay Service.
