DAVENPORT CITY COUNCIL PROCLAMATION CELEBRATES “GOOD NEIGHBOR DAY”
(September 25, 2024) Davenport residents Cal and Joyce Klopp accepted a proclamation signed by Mayor Mike Matson declaring September 28, 2024 as “Good Neighbor Day.”
In the proclamation, the City of Davenport commends good neighbors who take pride in their property and dedicate their time and talents to make their neighborhoods a safe, stable, and welcoming place to live. As Good Neighbor Project members, Cal and Joyce Klopp run Hope at the BRICK House, a nonprofit organization offering spiritual, educational and community-based support to children through after-school and summer programs, family events in the neighborhood, and life skills coaching.
“We live in the building we serve in,” said Joy Klopp. “I’ve been in the neighborhood for 30 years, and it’s a joy to see families come together.”
Recognizing Good Neighbor Day celebrates the 130 groups participating in the Good Neighbor Project. The Good Neighbor Project stabilizes neighborhoods by connecting neighbors, fostering crime prevention through community engagement, and encouraging collaboration with the Davenport Police Department.
